Why Mode-sty?

Right now takes a lot of effort to look stylish while maintaining the coverage you want. So if you're feeling frustrated with being unable to find and put together the look you want, then take comfort in the fact that you're fighting an uphill battle. Here is some of what you are up against:

  • Society/Fashionistas prominent in the media and billboards claiming you that you gotta show skin to be modern and beautiful.
  • Main street brands that don't understand what modesty means for many women. Most brands are all targeting the same type of women. Leaving those of us who don't fit the mold to sift through sheer, low cut and too short pieces.
  • High end designers create gorgeous pieces that are modest. But alas they are all at a price point that is reserved for the upper upper class.
We do have some allies though, beautiful modest fashion bloggers. These lovely women take time to share their style with us, and we love them for it. They prove that we can be stylish and modest, no compromising. However, though their tips, inspiration and where to find certain pieces are helpful, they still aren't there with us when we go shopping. Leaving us, the average modest women, to sort through hundreds racks of irrelevant garments only to find a few that could work. Then we're still left to figure out the best way to style it for our body and the occasion.

Now let's be honest for a moment, not everyone is as into fashion as they like to think. The vast majority of us are simply 'fashion conscious' - we know the trends and what looks good but don't necessarily to all that is required to execute those looks everyday (like true fashionistas). Why? Because it takes A LOT of TIME and effort. If you're like us, thats time you simply don't have. Yes we want to look good but its not the main priority of our day. So though we have wonderful modest fashion blogs, its not enough because as it stands right now it takes HOURS and HOURS of shopping to find the pieces to put together a stylish modest look, especially if you don't want to layer.

Thats why we started Mode-sty. We started it for the rest of us, the average women, the moms, students, professionals, newly graduated and retired women- who are busy. We don't think is should be this hard to shop for and find contemporary  stylish modest clothing. Our aim is to bring you stylish modest fashion at affordable prices.

Now when we say modest fashion we're talking about pieces that do not require shells, undershirts, cardigans, jackets, pinning or alterations. We are talking about beautiful designs that any women would want to wear simply because they are beautiful, they just also happen to offer you the coverage you're looking for (for examples of what we mean check out our Pinterest). Cutting your shopping time down to a fraction of what you spend now and allowing you to better express your style. We're just getting started on our journey and we hope you will join us! 1. I agree. While I've called myself a modest fashion blogger, I've come to realize that it isn't modest fashion so much as it is modest style. I think fashion are rules that can be dictated from the top head honchos down to the consumers. I'm not THAT much into fashion. I don't crazy for fashion week and don't buy copies of Vogue. I think the average woman just wants to be inspired and your blog and Pinterest pins do just that. They give us a new outlook on modest style. For me I always like to think of ways to style my clothing. I think my style has evolved over time, and I'm thankful for blogs like your yours that have helped me along the way!
