Underwhelmed by Undershirts

As a conservative dresser you probably you have several long sleeved and short sleeved tees in your closet that you use for layering under plunging necklines and sleeveless tops. It's great that layering is a trend and that there are so many options and combinations to be stylish when you layer, but if your anything like us you sometimes wish you didn't have to layer.

Many women don’t buy into the revealing trends that are so prevalent nowadays and some of these women identify themselves as modest dressers. 

So what does it mean to be a modest dresser? That answer depends on who you ask. What you may consider a modest outfit may not be to others. While everyone may agree that a strapless cutout mini dress doesn’t qualify as modest, defining what does isn't as clear cut.

Review: Hugo Boss Halay Dress (Medium Coverage)

On the hanger the 'Halay' dress appears to have it all. It's made with rich soft cotton in a sophisticated midnight blue and has three quarter length sleeves, a longer length, a seemingly loose shape and high neckline. Introducing Mode-sty Reviews

Unbiased, thoughtful and comprehensive. That is what we will be bringing to you with our new Mode-sty Reviews.With so many paid promotions out there it can be hard to get good honest information about the fit, quality and coverage level of clothing online. So we will be doing our own independent reviews. At Mode-sty our focus is on style so we'll be looking for stylish pieces that seem to have the desired amount of coverage and giving you a through review from fashion experts.

We will evaluate every piece on a simple 4 point scale. Garments will receive a star if they have great:
  1. Fit
  2. Quality
  3. Coverage
  4. Price
Our first expert is fashion designer Nicole Larson. She's teamed up with photographer Luke Schneider who has captured her wearing several dresses that you will see in the following posts.
